Donald Trump is begging Facebook to let him return to the platform, and a new report says that the former President is preparing for his return to Twitter. This is being done to help his struggling presidential campaign, but it could come at a great price: The complete destruction of Truth Social. The SPAC that is supposed to purchase the Trump Media and Technology Group has given themselves an extension to complete the merger, but Trump getting back on the other platforms would negate the only selling point the company has. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

According to a report from N NBC News yesterday, Donald Trump is reportedly preparing for his return to both Facebook and Twitter. Now, he's had access to his Twitter account for a couple months now, Elon Musk gave that back to him, but so far he has not tweeted. And according to this report, a couple anonymous sources close to Donald Trump said that he is basically trying to figure out when and how to come back to Twitter, right? You can't make it too obvious, but you gotta make it a grand thing, right? That, Hey, I'm back. This is my thing and I'm here. Again, they just haven't quite worked out the details of how that's going to happen, but they're all confident that it is going to happen probably very soon for Facebook. However, he's still got that permanent ban. So he had his people reach out to Meta, the parent company of Facebook this week, and they didn't threaten to sue if you don't let Trump back on.
What they actually did was say, how about a meeting? We would like to have Donald Trump come and meet with you folks, and maybe we could all just work this out and talk about the van and try to get him back on there. So a totally different tactic, really, from anything we have ever seen Trump do, which honestly is, is quite remarkable. But to me it shows the desperation. They are so desperate to get him back on Facebook because they know that the advertising on Facebook helped propel him to success in 2016 and 2020, even though they've changed the rules a little bit. So it may not be as effective, but if they don't have access to that advertising platform, they are screwed. So rather than doing the usual thing of threatening somebody like, oh, we're gonna come at you, we're gonna give you everything we've got.
If you don't let me back on, they're going the different route. They're like, Hey guys, how you been? What else? Come on, let's just all sit down. We get some food, right? Maybe watch a movie. I don't know. So his approach to this, again, being totally different is what strikes me as super odd. But here's the problem. Trump also has, he actually has a legal obligation to post unique posts on truth social because he owns it and because that is part of the deal. They worked out this past summer after Truth Social launched, Trump went months without saying anything on it. Uh, digital World Acquisition, the SPAC company that, uh, was supposed to be merging with it, they were like, Hey, why? Why are we gonna buy this if you're not even gonna use it? That's the only draw this platform has is that you are on it because it's the only platform you are on now. And of course, there's other big problems with that merger that again, uh, uh, couple months ago was pushed back to some point this year. So it has not happened yet. It is still on track to maybe happen,
