One of the symbols of London - Big Ben - rings its bells on the night from December 31 to January 1 to announce the arrival of 2022.
The iconic clock tower has been under reconstruction for four years, remaining unusually silent and covered. Even on New Year's, it will show all of its four sides and send its chimes again for the first time since reconstruction works began in 2017.
Most of the other NYE celebrations, including fireworks, have been cancelled in London this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its latest variant Omicron outbreak.
