God Allow You To Go Through Tough Times For A Reason!

Hello Trailblazers, you are welcome to another video, today is an excellent day to bask in the goodness of God and to remind ourselves that sometimes God has to break us in order to build us.

God breaking us does not mean breaking, instead, it means that God may sometimes allow us to get to the end of ourselves in order for us to learn lessons and grow. Growth involves actualizing your strengths, becoming better than you once were and improving on the skills you initially possessed; this is God’s plan for us and sometimes he would have to break us because of that. God may allow a trial into your life to help you identify a way you need to grow. In 1st Corinthians 10 verse 13, we see that God is faithful, he will not give us nor allow temptations to be more than we can handle. It is normal to ask God why some incidents in your life happen, like losing a loved one. It is also normal to be baffled, embarrassed, or even hurt when you notice you are passing through so many difficulties and it seems God is not concerned or ready to help. It is common to ask these questions but you should know that he knows the plans he has for you and they are plans to prosper you and not harm you, God plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11) so do not lose heart. While it may look like our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16). At whatever point you feel broken, you can inquire from God the reason why you are experiencing such hardship.
The following biblical characters should paint a clearer picture of how you should behave when you are going through God’s breaking process.
David: He was also known as the man after God’s own heart is an excellent example of beauty in brokenness and how sometimes, God chooses to break you in order to build you into someone greater than you once were. In 1st Kings 8 verse 16 it is seen that since the day that God brought his people Israel from Egypt, he did not choose a city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house that his name might be there, but he chose David to be King over his people, Israel. This means God thought highly of David and loved him. David went through a lot of trials even after he was anointed as King. The previous king, Saul chased him and tried to kill at every opportunity he got, these challenges went on to shape how David ruled. Another period in David’s life where he had to be broken started from 2nd Samuel chapter 11 when David begins to spiral down into sin, to the point of committing murder. God started the process of breaking him to build him by sending his prophet Nathan to admonish him in 2nd Samuel chapter 12. David went through a lot of low moments and eventually got to the end of himself as can be seen in many of his psalms; Psalm 51 (where he confesses his guilt) and Psalm 32 (where he describes the blessings of forgiveness). 2nd Corinthians chapter 1 verses 3 to 4 says blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we are comforted by God. The entirety of illustrating some parts of David’s highs and lows is to help you understand that breaking does not mean God will abandon you or condemn you, it simply means he will show you mercy and allow you to learn your lesson and his intention is for you to grow from it and use those lessons to become a better version of yourself.
Daniel: Another person who was broken in the bible was Daniel. He is seen as a man endowed with the knowledge of who he is and his inheritance of God’s kingdom. Daniel also teaches how to face trials with dignity. In the book of Daniel, it is noted that many trials were faced by Daniel because he was a servant of the lord, in Daniel 2, the king was looking for interpretation and since none of the wise men could interpret, they were all sentenced to death. Daniel, also a wise man went to his house and informed his friends, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, about the matter, so that they might request compassion from the God of heaven concerning this mystery so that Daniel and his friends would not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men. Daniel was not surprised at the trials that came forth; in fact, he is a great testament of 1st Peter 4:12-13 which highlights that as believers we should not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange was happening to you
