Pandemic fuels consumer demand with shipping backlog

The pandemic kept many consumers indoors and online, shopping for goods.

Economically, that seems like a good thing, but it has caused a backlog of items arriving at US ports.

And competition for scarce spots on shipping vessels has caused the price of shipping to skyrocket.
