Hi! In this video we examine part of the roster of heroes that Overwatch has to Offer. Overwatch and its characters are both known for trying to be a diverse and incluvise. This is a great thing! I respect the creators a lot for trying to give a lot of people someone to identify with, it does not happen enough in gaming.
However, what I think is absolutely scummy is how a company like Activision Blizzard, in light of the recent accusations and business malpractices, is responsible for choosing an approach to be inclusive like this. When you make a game that is based on respect, safety and making everyone feel welcomed while at the same time you enable an organisational culture where people are harassed, made to feel unsafe and where discrimination is seemingly alright, you are a scoundrel. This makes it seem that is was never about actually being inclusive, but rather chose this approach because the more people identify with your game, the better the sales will be.
It's sad. I really hope the people at the top will be held responsible for their actions.
