Judge Enables Ripple XRP To Depose SEC Official Who Concluded ETH Is Not A Security

There is every chance that you might have given up on Ripple XRP and we certainly can't blame you. When the whole market was pumping and Ripple XRP failed to do some through a matter of legal clouds hanging over them this would be enough to put anybody off and perhaps look for other alternatives. This might be understandable but it is important to note that if Ripple XRP succeeds or fails in their court case against the SEC this would have a substantial effect on the rest of the market. In other words, a victory for Ripple should be celebrated by the entire community.

Bill Hinman could be referred to witness on his 2018 comments associated with Ethereum’s security status.

U.S. District Court Judge Sarah Netburn has refused the SEC’s motion to remove the deposition of the former director of the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance, William Hinman, in a decision in New York on Thursday.

The speech made by Hinman in June 2018 was based on his understanding of the Ethereum network and its decentralized structure, the “current offers and sales of Ether are not securities transactions.”

Considering that Ripple had affirmed that the XRP token is not a security, the deposition could add more credibility to his discourse.
