This video is 2 of 3 in which I give my reaction and take on the round of US sanctions placed on Russia that was announced on August 20, 2021. In it i cover some of the history leading up to this most recent event, and then talk about 7.62x39 ammunition's current popularity in America.
The US Gov't says the sanctions are in response to the poisining of Alexey Navalny; a Russian blogger and anti-Putin activist.
The Russian Gov't on the otherhand says it is being punished for Nord Stream 2; a joint German-Russian pipeline.
According to the gov't's press-release.... These sanctions were imposed under the US Chemical and Biological Control and Warfare Elimination Act of 1991 (CBW Act).
"New and pending permit applications for the permanent importation of firearms and ammunition manufactured or located in Russia will be subject to a policy of denial.
Additional Department of Commerce export restrictions on nuclear and missile-related goods and technology pursuant to the Export Control Reform Act of 2018."
