Under the full title, Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King, the series is produced and aired in 2006 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of TNT (Turner Network Television) of the US. The series is based on the short story collection by Stephen King and has 8 episodes in total, while some episodes are taken from the author's other novels. Today, we will introduce 'Episode 1: Battleground.'
The episode tells a story of a killer who assassinated a CEO of a toy company and returns home, finding a toy army set delivered. The toy soldiers then come to life, fighting a cut-throat battle with the killer. Added to the end of the episode are special forces toys, which is a new addition to the original novel.
This episode includes quite specific descriptions of special warfare as if the production team obtained fact-checks from military experts. The series as a whole is directed with a very Stephen King-like atmosphere and worldview and should not be missed if you are a horror or thriller fan.
