Dozens of volunteers, including members of the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), turned up to help sort through food aid and clothes for flood victims at the Nurburgring, Nurburg on Sunday.
Hundreds of bags and boxes could be seen inside the building, filled with food and beverages, clothes, kitchenware and toys, among other items.
The centre was transformed into an emergency aid centre last Thursday. Since then, people from across Germany and Switzerland have donated clothing, with the centre asking people to send help to other sites due to the high volume of donations.
Over 180 people died in the flooding in western Germany and Belgium, while thousands more remain missing. At least 143 died in Germany, where the floods are the country's worst natural disaster in over half a century.
