Warzone pros Aydan, Tommey, and others are boycotting a $10k Warzone event forhaving “rigged” teams.
The eFuse Community Showdown Warzone event was supposed to be a way for casters to step out of the booth and have a chance to play with pros and streamers of the game they cover. Instead, Tommey, Aydan, and others have called out the event for having rigged teams, and have decided to boycott it.
When NRG Huskerrs spoke up to defend the event, 100 Thieves Tommey called him out for being upset that his “riggin didn’t work out for him”, with Aydan chiming into agree. Tommey accused the event of having ringers for casters, or stacking teams with 2 pros, and apparently the backlash was enough for eFuse to postpone the entire tournament to figure this out.
So now Huskerrs is once again on the wrong side of a decent chunk of the Warzone community, but this time without Nickmercs involved, and a lot of the biggest names in Warzone have forced the event to consider major changes. In a week full of hacking in big money events, it’s just another day in the broken world of Warzone esports.
